Our story
Opened by a guide, run by skiers
Pierrot Michaud is a mountain guide and ski instructor. In 1989 he opened La Boit’askis on rue de Médran with a simple idea: a shop run by people who ski the mountain they talk about. He is still here, with his team.
Verbier has changed a great deal since then. The way we work, much less. We kit you out according to your ability, your plans and the snow of the day, not according to what is left on the shelf. It takes longer. That is why some people have been coming back for thirty winters.
Behind the scenes
Your skis spend the night with us
Drop them off on your way back from the slopes. Overnight, our ski techs sharpen them, wax them and flatten the bases, your boots dry out. The next morning, everything is waiting for you, ready to go.

The team
A family, not a counter
We are a small team and we have known each other a long time. That is why we take the time: fitting a child’s boot, explaining the difference between two skis, swapping your equipment when the snow turns.
Many of our customers have been coming back every winter for years. We end up knowing their boot size, their ability and their holiday plans before they have walked through the door.
